Joan Trabal is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Barcelona. He teaches courses in clinical nutrition and the role of plant-based diets in healthy lifestyles. He holds an MSc in nutrition and metabolism and a PhD in foods and nutrition sciences from the same university. Joan is also the reference dietitian-nutritionist for the hepatology and the gastroenterology departments, and internship advisor for undergraduate and graduate students at Clinic Barcelona University Hospital. His research interests now lie in the interrelationship between malnutrition, sarcopenia and physical frailty in liver diseases.
