Plant-based eating: a viable solution for climate change and sustainability?

The food choices we make and the food we waste impacts significantly the environment, contributing to 30% of greenhouse gas emissions (GHGe) and impacting on the climate (1). With the world population estimated to grow to 9.6 billion by 2050, the global challenge is to produce enough food with reduced resources such land, water and energy and at the same time minimize the environmental impact (2).
