Soy intake and stomach cancer

Cancer of the stomach is the fourth most common type of cancer worldwide. Almost one million cases were recorded in 2002. Two out of three cases occur in men. The WCRF Panel judges that food and nutrition play an important role in the prevention and causation of stomach cancer.

This Japanese prospective cohort study evaluated the associations of soy or isoflavone intake with stomach cancer incidence.
