Meta-analysis

date
13.09.2016

Meta-analyses provide evidence assessed on the basis of findings of clinical studies, or observational studies, conducted on the same topic and in a similar manner.

A meta-analysis uses a statistical approach to combine the results from multiple studies in an effort to increase power (over individual studies), improve estimates of the size of the effect and/or to resolve uncertainty when reports disagree. A meta-analysis produces a weighted average of the included study results.
