Dr. Pamela Magee

Lecturer in Human Nutrition at Ulster University.

Dr Magee obtained a PhD from the University of Ulster in 2000. Following a short postdoctoral fellowship in University College Dublin, Dr Magee returned to Ulster in 2001 to work on the EU funded project Phytoprevent that investigated the role of dietary phytoestrogens in the prevention of breast and prostate cancer.

Dr Magee took up a lectureship in Human Nutrition in 2006 and within the Northern Ireland Centre for Food & Health has continued to research the effects of isoflavones on health in addition to other phytochemicals including seaweed extracts.Dr Magee also has a keen interest in vitamin D.

Dr Magee has published 20 peer-reviewed research papers and one book chapter. She is a registered nutritionist and the University’s Liaison Representative for the Association for Nutrition and the Nutrition Society.
