A vegetarian lunch at school is good for children’s health
Up to 20% more fibre and 22% less saturated fat
The Alpro Foundation has today awarded the Alpro Foundation Award Bachelors to Valentine Boone, a nutrition student at Institut Paul Lambin in Brussels.
The aim of Valentine’s thesis was to help young children aged 4 to 12 to take steps towards a healthy, balanced and varied diet. She did this by introducing one or more vegetarian lunches each day in school canteens. She then researched whether this change in the weekly menu was resulting in important changes or deficiencies in the daily recommended quantities of nutrients.
