Prof. Dr. Peter Clarys

Peter Clarys is full professor at the Faculty of Physical Education and Physiotherapy of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Brussels, Belgium.

He is head of the Department Human Biometry and Biomechanics and he is coordinator of the Master Program Physical Activity, Physical Fitness and Health. He obtained his Master in Physical Education at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and his PhD in Biomedical Research Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine & Pharmacy of the same university. He is teaching courses in Biochemistry of Exercise, Nutritional aspects of fitness and health, Sports Nutrition, and Health Promotion.

His present research lines are in the field of nutrition and health (with special attention for vegetarian nutrition and sports nutrition) physical (in)activity and physical activity promotion.

He is author or co-author of more than 100 papers in peer reviewed international journals. He contributed to chapters in more than 20 books with international review system.
