Are more environmentally sustainable diets nutritionally adequate?

Our current food consumption patterns, with a relatively high intake of animal-derived foods have a high environmental pressure. Dietary changes could play an important role in reaching environmental goals. Diets with less meat and dairy could potentially lower diet-related greenhouse gas emissions. On the other hand, is an environmentally friendlier diet also a healthier diet?

The Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment investigated the nutritional effects of shifting towards more sustainable diets on a population level.
