MISSION STATEMENT

The Alpro Foundation is an independent non-profit organisation, which was founded in 1996 – an initiative of Alpro.


The objective of the foundation is to support and promote scientific knowledge and research in the field of nutrition and health with a focus on plant-based nutrition and a special interest in soya.

The foundation aims to help increase the awareness and knowledge about the impact of ‘nutrition on human health’ amongst health professionals and the general public. 

PROGRAM

History

The Alpro Foundation is an independent non-profit organisation, which was founded in 1996 – an initiative of Alpro. Recognising the increasing importance of a healthy lifestyle for long term health benefits, Alpro contributes to health in marketing soya food products that fit with a healthy and balanced diet and lifestyle.

Activities
The foundation establishes numerous activities to help achieve the objectives e.g. organising conferences, dissemination of a an educational newsletter, awards for BSc and MSc, research
grants, …
The Alpro Foundation newsletter is published twice a year and is sent out to health Professionals.
One of the objectives of Alpro Foundation is to communicate knowledge about the impact of food on human health, particularly plant-based nutrition with special interest in soya. Therefore, the Alpro Foundation aims to encourage research in this area relating to human health. By offering Alpro Foundation Research Grants, the Alpro Foundation enables researchers to perform research in the field of nutrition within Europe.
The Alpro Foundation Award for Masters is given in recognition of an outstanding thesis relating to the impact of plant-based nutrition (including bioactive compounds) on human health, the environment or the economy.

Structure
The Alpro Foundation consists of a Secretariat, a Board of Directors and a Scientific Advisory Board made up of experts in the field of nutrition from several countries.
