Prof. Dr. Nathalie Delzenne (chair) – Université catholique de Louvain 

Nathalie Delzenne is professor in Nutrition and Biochemistry, and is the leader of the research group in Experimental Nutrition in the Unit of Pharmacokinetics, Metabolism, Nutrition and Toxicology of the Université catholique de Louvain.
She is involved in international projects and scientific committees (including International Life Sciences Institute) , and is an editor and reviewer for several international journals (Current Opinion in Clinical Nutrition and Metabolic Care, British Journal of Nutrition…).
She is also a member of the Scientific Board of the European Academy of Nutritional Science.

Prof. Dr. Helmut Heseker - University of Paderborn

1975-1980: Studies of human nutrition (diploma) at the University of Giessen (Germany)
1980-1985: PhD training Institute of Nutrition, University Giessen.
1985-1993: Scientific co-worker at the Institute of Nutrition, University Giessen
1993-1996: Substitute professorship at the University of Paderborn
1996-1997: Scientific director at the Federal Institute for Health Protection of Consumers and Veterinary Medicine (BgVV) in Berlin in the Department of Nutritional Medicine.
Since 1997: Professor in Human Nutrition (full-ship) at the University of Paderborn, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Department of Nutrition and Consumer
2007: Visiting professor at Jean Mayer HNRCA at Tufts University Boston.
Research interests: nutritional epidemiology; nutrition and health situation in population groups; nutrition and health education; vitamins and bioactive plant substances.
 

Dr. Sander Kersten – Wageningen Universiteit

Dr. Sander Kersten is an associate professor within the Division of Human Nutrition at Wageningen University, the Netherlands. He received his MSc degree in Human Nutrition at Wageningen University in 1993. He subsequently moved to the USA and obtained his PhD in Nutritional Biochemistry from Cornell University in 1997. Following a postdoctoral period in the laboratory of Dr. Walter Wahli at the University of Lausanne he moved back to Wageningen in 2000 to set up a new research group in Nutrigenomics, together with the newly appointed chair Dr. Michael Muller. Dr. Kersten is also Adjunct Associate Professor in the Division of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University. 

Prof. Dr. Ian Rowland - University of Reading

Ian Rowland has a BSc and PhD in microbiology from University College London and is a Registered Nutritionist. For 10 years he was Professor of Human Nutrition at the University of Ulster before moving last year to his present position as head of the Hugh Sinclair Unit of Nutrition at the University of Reading.
His current research areas include the role of diet (in particular probiotics, prebiotics, phytoestrogens, and phytochemicals) in prevention of colon, breast and prostate cancer.
He was recently awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Ghent for his work on nutrition and cancer risk.

Prof. Dr. Cesare Sirtori - University of Milano

Cesare Sirtori is Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Milano and from 2206 is the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy. He also Director of the University Center for Dyslipidemias at City Hospital of Niguarda that has followed more than 20,000 patients with lipid disorders/arterial disease in the past 36 years. Professor Sirtori is the author of over 500 scientific articles, more than 300 of which on highly ranked medico-biological journals, as well as of several books in the field of atherosclerosis, clinical pharmacology, nutrition and others.
