
This Award for university students
will be presented for the first time in 2008 in five countries,
namely Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, United
Kingdom & Ireland. Each laureate will receive a
generous award amounting to € 2,500 and
an official certificate for their thesis. In addition, there
will be a European Alpro Foundation Award that will be presented
to one of the five laureates. The winner of the European Award
will receive a further € 2,500 on top of the first award.
The first award is aimed at students who will defend
their thesis in 2008.
In each country, the selected works will be judged by an official
jury. The chairmen of all five juries are:

(University of Reading, United Kingdom)
Any university student taking his/her masters in science (nutrition and
dietetics, medicine and health sciences, bioscience engineering, pharmaceutical
sciences and economics) may participate in this competition. The theme
should focuse on the impact of vegetable foods on
our health, the environment or the economy.
